The Uptown Business Improvement District (BID) is a 49-block neighborhood where business owners tax themselves (included on City of Sacramento Business Operations Tax Certificate) to make their community cleaner, safer and more vibrant. The tax is used by the Chamber to purchase services and capital improvements that supplement those provided by the city.

The Uptown BID in conjunction with the North Sacramento Chamber of Commerce is leading a new spirit of cooperation among property owners, businesses and the community by providing a range of enhanced management programs focusing on safety, maintenance, marketing, physical improvements, networking and event management. These program areas are designed to improve the environment, to retain, expand and attract businesses and investment and to help establish the Uptown District as the premier arts & business mainstreet destination in the region.

The Uptown BID contains approximately 420 properties. The BID is bounded by: the American River Parkway to the South, Hagginwood Neighborhood to the North, the Arden-Garden Connector Bridge and Steelhead Creek to the West, and Union Pacific Tracks on the East (on Arden Way). The Uptown BID is bordered by the Dixieanne, Woodlake, Noralto and Hagginwood neighborhoods.
